We, the members of Abhijan believe education is the key to unlocking endless possibilities. Our mission is to make education accessible to every child. Together, we can break barriers, uplift communities, and pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future.
At Abhijan, we believe in the holistic development of the children. Focusing on both educational, personal and physical education, we strive to extract the best out of our children.
We believe in incorporating physical education along with academics which is crucial for the comprehensive development of students. It inculcates social and team skills and allover development of students.
Education is a fundamental right of every child
As the great reformer Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world", we stive to use this powerful weapon to bring an impactful change. In India, about 50% of India's children have no access to quality education after primary school, which is detrimental to our country. To address this critical problem, we at Abhijan focus on providing quality education to the unprivileged students mainly belonging to SCs and OBCs. We want raise students' aspiration and confidence to learn and develop skill set, become a happy and responsible human being ......... and, reduce stereotype gender and caste discrimination
Our NGO is dedicated to working with marginalized families, striving to reduce dropout rates among underprivileged students in public schools. We provide free education and stationery, continuously supporting students to stay on track academically. Despite challenges like the Covid pandemic, we bridge learning gaps and motivate students in interactive, fun environments. Additionally, we develop our curriculum based on lower-level IGCSE for English and NCERT for Mathematics. We extend our reach to adults, teaching basic mathematics, language skills, and computer applications, fostering holistic community development.
Through our tireless efforts, we empower marginalized families by providing them with access to quality education and essential resources. By addressing dropout rates in public schools and offering free education and stationery, we ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Our commitment to bridging learning gaps, especially exacerbated by the challenges of the Covid pandemic, drives us to create interactive and enjoyable learning environments where students are motivated to achieve their goals. Furthermore, our holistic approach extends beyond the classroom to include adults, whom we support with essential skills in mathematics, language, and computer applications, thereby fostering community-wide development and empowerment.
Join our cause and be the change! As a volunteer with Abhijan, you have the power to transform lives by promoting education among not so privileged students. Together, let's empower minds, ignite dreams, and build a brighter future for all.
Able to stop school dropouts: compared to the post-COVID era, our continuous effort to keep these students in the learning loop helped increase the number of school-goers around 57% in 2023 in those localities.
Students’ average confidence level, interest in education, and overall happiness increased by 35 percentage points: using structured psychological measures through surveys, these indicators increased to around 62 percentage points compared to the pre-intervention level during the pandemic.
In each location, we have three sessions every week, two for Mathematics and English (1.5 hours for each subject per week, i.e., 3 hours/week for Math and English), and one for Science, Computer, and Sports (1 hour for each subject) to ensure overall development of students.
